I made a macro that creates a menu that activates various macros to insert entire slides from the file into the active presentation. But then I realized the menu goes away if I quit PowerPoint and reload it. So then I tried to turn it into an add-in, but it doesn't insert the slides like it did when it was a normal macro. Is this because it can't see the pages if it's converted to an add-in?

And if so, is there an alternative way to accomplish this?

What I ended up doing was manually creating all the shapes through code instead of copying slides. This was a lot of work, but I finally got it working.

It's kind of sad that you can't copy slide from an add-in to the active presentation. That would have made things so much easier.

When I try to install my add-in on other computers, sometimes I get a message saying "This is not a valid add-in." I can't figure out what would be triggering this because it works on some machines and not others.

Any ideas?
