In Word 2000. I've created several main merge file to share with others -- in different offices and firms. My files have keyboard shortcuts assigned to the different styles to make them easy for the operators to access. However, as far as I know, there is no way to "save" the shortcuts with the file so they are available when someone loads it onto their computer from a cd. Is it possible to share keyboard shortcuts with other operators?

Should I have created the main merge documents as templates instead of Word files? Would the keyboard shortcuts then be available in the merged file that is created based on the template?

Thanks.

Are you saying it would be better to write code to assign the keyboard shortcuts than to share the files with others via .dot templates? If so, I need help in writing the code, please. I would be assigning a style named "BI" for example to the keyboard shortcut Alt + B + I. (Word 2000)
