One thing I noticed in forums like this with the new FF is instead of a standard Alt + s to submit your post, it is now Alt + S, or Alt + Shift + s. A little better, as it won't get as confused with the Alt key for the menu structure.

Firefox has keyboard shortcuts? Who knew? LOL!

what the heck is up with everyone posting that quote? Inside joke or something? I read the post that originally created this fad - I guess I just don't get it.

Very much so, Tom. :) You need a VBAX secret decoder ring to get to the real message.

I say boo!! Firefox 2.0 is slow for me. Like right now as I write this post it intermittenly freezes...what the hell? This is so annoying! :banghead:

I'm going to search for some kind of patch or something.

I have the same experience (speed-wise) as IE. Hmm

I installed FF 2.0 on Vista last night. I'm also finding it a bit slow, but was putting it down to a video driver issue. Maybe I'll try posting from IE when I turn the laptop back on.

This is all too painful. It's as if FF is repeatedly checking something and freezes everything (web browser-wise) untill it's finished...and it happens every 15 seconds or so....grrrrr!!!! I want to go back to 1.7 or whatever the last version was.

Don't get me wrong, there's some things that I like about this new version...like earlier I closed out one window, and the whole FF closed :dunno but when I re-opened it it had a feature for "Restore previous state" or whatever it said and I said "Yes" and it reopened all the sites I had open before everything closed...very nice.

Maybe it's the plug-ins I'm using...I'll turn them off and see if that makes a difference.

But again, I say, this is all too painful.

Well, I uninstalled Mozilla, and the Add-ons that were non-compatible with FF2, but no luck. I'm using IE7 right now, and it's working much nicer than FF2...it only acts slow if I have another webpage loading while I'm replying to a post (or scrolling through a webpage). I guess this is good for now.

You know, IE7 looks pretty smooth, it's pretty nice. The screen fonts are smoother than FF2 for some reason.

Interesting... I'm posting from IE7 right now and the typing is moving along quite nicely. I was going to say that I doubt it's the add-ons, but you never know. I use IETab, Gmail Notifier and the Littlefox theme. That's it.

Okay, and this is posting from FF. Actually I'm having no issues with it right now. I will say that FF loads pages WAY faster than IE7 though. I think I'll stick to FF and monitor it.

Definitely agree that FF is loading pages faster than IE....Man, I just want the best of both worlds, ya know?

Ya darn tootin'!!! :)

I've decided to use IE7 for the forum. FF2 is ENTIRELY TOO SLOW while posting!!! I don't get it...maybe it's saving data for the "Restore last session" feature? I wonder if I can disable that....

Hi Joseph,

There is a setting in the options|tabs for "warn me if opening multiple tabs will slow down Firefox". I do have that checked, but my issues seem to have gone away. I noticed it last night when I was trying to post to my new Wordpress blog.

At any rate, I'm back to FF2 and am staying there so long as I can. :)

I downloaded Opera and I like it, most especially the Tab Preview of the webpage if you hover over the Tab... but the problem I have with Opera is that it will not load this site?! I've already posted about it in a post Johny Bravo started a few months back.

I'm telling you, this is TOO PAINFUL because I'm typing and watching nothing happen for like 5 seconds and it happens every 10-15 seconds...and once the freezing stops I see the comp typing everything I typed in fast motion....it's too annoying. And what's worse, IE loads TOO slow...and Opera won't work in VBAX!!!!!

I feel like I fell in a hole, and am struggling to get out.

This is starting to sound like your server......I use and have always used IE with none of the problems listed so far.

I think you spilled coconut milk in your keyboard Joseph...:devil2:

Ken Puls

Joseph, is it just VBAX, or all sites? And are you using IE 6 or 7 now? (I can't remember and it's on the other page.)

First off, no co-co milk on the keyboard thanks. LoL

And it is all sites, but most notably when I'm entering data into a form field. And I'm using IE7..when I'm using it.

I was doing some searching and I found this nice info on how to make FF2 load pages MUCH faster, and it's true for DSL users!

But this sucks, really bad. This is agonizing. I'm just going to go to bed for now, and hope that i don't have nightmares about this.

Ok, I found Firefox 1.5.0.7 at www.oldversion.com (http://www.vbaexpress.com/forum/www.oldversion.com) and I installed it and couldn't be happier! :):):) Everything works great! And it's (to me) truly the fastest web browser out there...especially with those mods from the above post :thumb:thumb what a difference!

Glad you have it solved.

Actually the fastest browser is Camino (sleek version of Firefox on the Mac).
