I was listening to a radio programme discussing IP addresses, and that the next generation of numbers will permit 2^128 unique addresses. As this represents 4.3x10^23 addresses for every square inch of the earth's surface, could this be considered over provision?

251,122,047.24 sq inches on surface based on 6378.15 km(3961.58 miles) radius
We (Ben and I) got 4.3*10^20 per square inch.....but still more than enough to go around....several times.

You're right, I mistook a comma for a decimal point! Maybe I'll get a job with NASA for their next Mars mission.

That's a great tool. I should've bought that but when I went to buy my calc when I first went to college they were like "the TI-86 is fine" which it is...but not like the 89.

Ben has both.....he started with the 86 and kept it because they let you use it on some tests.....he likes the 89 though. He packs a laptop and a backpack full of calcs and books everywhere he goes these days.
