Solved: Importing data from txt file

Hi Guys,

I'm having some problems in importing data from a file into a table. I created this file by exporting data from the same table. I've deleated all the records from the table and now I want to fill it up from the file I've created

I'm importing data using

file-> Get external data->import

Its giving me an error message "Invalid Argument"

At what point in the Import process do you get the error message?
Do you also get it using the VB Import Function?

Hi OBP I get the error message after I press finish in the Import text wizard.
Yes I get the same error using the vb import function.

Saurabhk, I had exactly the same problem when I tried to modify a previously created "Import Specification" and use it.
Have you tried doing a brand new Import with a brand new Import Spec.?

It is obviously a Microsoft Access bug that once you try and modify an Import Spec. that is working OK that it stops it working completely. :dunno
