Hello,

A friend of mine is taking a college course and in one of his classes (Writing 121) his teacher is requiring him to write papers in an MLA style format. (More information on MLA format here. (http://www.geocities.com/athens/aegean/6354/mla.html)) My friend asked me and I had no idea. Does anybody know if there are templates for this? I couldn't find anything on my search, although I may not have been searching for the right things/keywords.

I think it'll be a start. I will show him when I see him next, he actually just left. But thank you Tony! I'll let you know how it turned out.

I think it's a college standard style....Ben uses it in his college papers. I will catch him when he gets home from school and post back. He probably has a template or a style set up.

Thanks! I've never taking this particular class. My friend isn't the most computer literate person, so he came to me (go figure). Thanks Steve!

Seems like it was an English Comp class....he's still not home. He has 3 classes to attend today all intense(would be for me)...Calc III, Differential Equations and Engineering Statics.....doesn't get out of class until 7pm....

No problem Steve, I'm sure my friend can wait. He has class tonight as well anyway. Take your time. :)

Why do I feel like I just saw this in a Word 2007 list format or something...?

I remember having to write papers in APA style back in high school. I couldn't even tell you what it meant now though. That part of my brain has long since gone to sleep. :)

A list style?? I couldn't find it anywhere in my Word 2007. :(

I don't have Office 2007 on this PC, so can't check.

The other day, though, I was trying to be clever and make a list style (I think that's what the verbiage was), and was sure I saw something like that. Don't know for absolute certain though... I did remark on seeing a college type setting somewhere while I was doing it though...

Will look tonight to see just how far off my rocker I am. :)

Zack, my brother had a similar problem a couple years ago. I don't know about any freeware solutions, but here are a couple links to check out:

Style Ease (http://www.styleease.com/MLAMain.htm)

Ref point (http://www.refpt.net/MLA_features.htm?gclid=CMWGxMqp14kCFQ9CYQod7wKM3g)

Citation (http://www.citationonline.net/9-home.asp)

Free demos exist and these aren't the only third party products out there, so a google on bibiliography software, citation software, or modern language association format (MLA) will get you a ton of sites to investigate.

Free one? (http://scholarword.com/)

Zack,
Ben has a template that he uses....similar to the one Tony linked to. If you wish to see it let me know....

Well I'm glad you guys have some solutions. Whatever the heck I saw I can't find. It's quite likely that it wasn't the right thing anyway, I guess.

Okay guys, an update. Just wanted you to know my friend is going to use one of the templates from the Office website, he said they'd suffice just fine. Thanks very much to everyone who responded. I, and he, appreciates it! :yes

Zack, maybe just as a suggestion, you should get a link to the MLA templates and post them here? Would add some closure to the thread in case anyone else digs it up via Google. :)

The links used were the ones posted by Tony. :)
