Alright, I am using the new Office 2007 Retail.

Ok, Excel 2007, and PowerPoint 2007.

I got an Excel sheet that resides on our local network drive:

\\bla\bla\bla\excel.xlsx

I open it, over the network, I highlight the cells that have the data
and make a chart, I copy the chart and then I:

Paste Special: Paste as link into the PowerPoint.

Great it worked, when I right click on the chart in PowerPoint, I can edit the link, Update the link, Open the link, it all works. I exit Excel (yes I saved it), I can still in Power point, edit the link, Open the Link and update the link.

I save the Power Point, I exit....

I open the PowerPoint which also resides on the network drive, since there in a linked object in my slide (the chart) it asks me if I want to Update the links, I click: Update Links.

I get an error that the link is broken or un-available, what's up with that ?

I mean it works, I saved it, I exit, it no longer works..... http://www.mrexcel.com/board2/images/smiles/icon_huh.gif

Please http://www.mrexcel.com/board2/images/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif tell me what I am doing wrong.

THANK YOU very much!
