Hello, here is my question. I converted a database from Access 97 to Access 2002. I have security on it to stop users from seeing tables or modifying data they shouldn't be. In Access 97 I used the following command line to specify the correct workgroup.
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Access97SR2\Office\MSACCESS.EXE" Y:\Payroll\Payroll2006_Solar.mdb /WRKGRP Y:\Payroll\SYSTEM.MDA.
This worked in Access 97. Access 2002 ignores it. I know I can join the workgroup to make my changes. But then, if I don't go back to the default workgroup, I have to enter the password everytime I go into any database. My question is, what in the command line has to be changed in order for me to just specify the workgroup for just this one database? I hope this makes sense and Thanks.

I have Access 2002 and often program it in Access 2000 and your properties look OK except for the Workgroup's file Type.
Access 2000 and above use .MDW not .MDA.

Ok, thanks, now how do I change from .mda to .mdw. It allowed me to join the .mda group. But using it in the command line does not appear to work.

Actually, I think I have it figured out. I must include the Path of MSaccess.exe in my command line. While I am showing that above, it reality, I did not include that when I tried in Access 2002. I only included the path of the database. I now have it working.
P.S. How do I mark this solved?

Look in the Access Help File for Convert Access 97 database.
To convert a secured database you first Convert the database, then Compact & Repair it.
Then join another workgroup, not the secured one.
Quit and re-open Access and then Compact & repair the secured database's workgroup file (MDA).
Have a look yourself and see if it works.
