vacation to northern Minnesota... snow and all.

I have a friend who owns some land up that direction. On the land is a "cabin" that he camps in when he goes to chop firewood. On a wood cutting escapade during my college days, we were greeted by a two or three of his "neighbors" who saw that his place had the lights on. They dragged as much beer with them as they could carry and far too much alcohol was consumed by all.

The stories started coming in rapid fire succession; each topping the last. I swore that I was in a Saturday Night Live skit with the Mackenzie brothers. The best shot among them (Les, he's a dead eye bye god) claimed to have hauled a deer he shot out of the woods over a mile. Did I mention his fractured leg? Neither did he until the third or fourth telling.

These guys were great fun. I have a special place for persons from Minnesota (I won't reveal it, not even under oath! :rofl : )

Have a great trip Shades.

Geesh.

.. And the west coaster's also. Having lived on both sides of the US (and calling it both) I think it's safe to just call it "SODA-POP". :D

Hey Anne I've learnt a lot about PHP - just developed a site in it for a client in..... yup Northern Minnesota!!! So if the DB still needs backing up send me the details and I'll get on it :D

You know, at this point, I'd be happy just knowing what file name to look for. Mark007 backed it up for me, then sent me the file via YIM and now I can't find it. I am such a lame-o sometimes. I'm not sure I actually received it anymore, but I thought I did...

Hey Anne,

I know what you mean - I'm sure I've done something before then realise I'm a dorko - either that or my PC crashed and I blocked it out gos it was just toooo distressing... :rofl

Depends on the host type - if it's a Unix (Linux) system it'll either have a .gz or a .sql.qz file extention... let me have a quick look...

...Ok yeah I backed up both of my site DBs the other day, they are in the format <dbname>.sql.gz (but this also could be <dbname>.sql.zip or just <dbname>.sql depending on if / how the db was compressed. Assuming that PHPMyAdmin was used to do the backup.

So... forum.sql.gz or similar is what you're looking for :)

It's far too late for me to be technical, I think I'll have another :drunkard: :)
