I'm sure I'll have plenty of technical questions in the future, but right now what I need to know is:
What is the job market like for Excel VBA programmers? I am very much interested in getting the Certification and becoming a VBA programmer as a career. Would appreciate your advice! Mick:friends:

I am not sure about VBA programmer as a career, unless you are self employeed. But it has been my experience that VBA will make you an extreamly valuable employee in any office environment.
This has been my personnal experience at least. And I have also developed macros / programs for people whose company was hiring me, and also some people that were paying me themselves just to make some of their job functions easier.
In London there are tons of jobs for Excel/VBA programmers in financial institutions but I don't know about the States. They get paid really well here too.

Thanks Glen!
Now if someone will tell me something similar about the States, maybe I won't have to move to London!
Or maybe I'd like London.

It takes a special kind of person to like london. Many don't. I'm out of here in a month...

Jake has got a good point, strictly doing Excel VBA can be quite an undertaking if that is the sole skillset you bring to the table. Combined with experience in a given field (or a degree in a field of interest), and you have a chance of staying busy doing Excel related activities for as long as you'd like.
Being able to do what you like to do in Excel (varies by person) sometimes takes a back seat to the other duties that are ever present if you are your own boss.
If you want to do it though, dive right in and give it a try. It's fun most of the time.
