Can VBA be used in applications outside of Microsoft Office?

My reason for asking is that i want to customize a toolbar in Crystal Reports. There does not appear to be a way to create your own toolbar in Crystal as there is in MS Office products, so i am guessing VBA will not be an option there - but it never hurts to ask right?

Thanks!

You can use VB to create programs. I don't think VBA would be of much use here.

Although Microsoft make VBA available (at a price) to third party providers for them to add to their products, there isn't very much take up - and AFAIK, Crystal doesn't have any support for it. As Jake says, you might be able to do it with VB - it depends how much of its UI Crystal exposes to code.

No, it's better to ask and get the answer then never ask and never know the answer ;)

Kind regards,
