Hey Folks,

A coworker and I have noticed that when data that is used to generate a chart is hidden in Excel 2003, the data in the chart itself also disappears.

Is this normal? If so why and how does one prevent this from happening?

It is an interesting quirk!

Thanks,

Michael

If you can' use a chart sheet and have your data on a different sheet you can make the fonts white.

You need to turn off the Option of Plot visible cells only.

Select the chart and then use the menu
Tools > Options > Chart > Active Chart - Plot visible cells only.

Select the chart and then use the menu
Tools > Options > Chart > Active Chart - Plot visible cells only.

Thanks. That only works if you select the chart first. Otherwise the options are greyed out.

Thanks again.

You have to select the chart first MrRhodes......Andy is a chart guy and I learned something myself.
