Hi All

I am sure I have seen an example of this somewhere but for the life of me I cannot find anything and as I am not sure what to look for exactly I thought of posting?

I am putting a employee cost calculation sheet together for managers to use which calculates a post's full cost (i.e. basic pay, National Insurance and Pension).

To obtain the cost of a post the manager needs to make some selections (ie Grade, Scale Point, Full time equiv, etc).

Here is what I would like to do, and seek your help.
On selecting the Grade (from a drop down list) I need a dynamic drop down list providing the scale points for that grade only.

At the moment I have a list of all the scale points and would only like the corresponding scale points to be available for selected grade.

Example of grades and scale points
Grade A - might have Scale points 10 thru to 15
Grade B - Scale points 16 thru 21
etc
etc

How do I go about doing this?

Cheers
J

Here's an example for you to examine. If you have questions let us know. Hope this helps

ps sheet 2 explains it a little.

Since it uses named ranges the sheet with the lists can be seperate from the ones with the drop downs.

Thank you very much.
It didn't even cross my mind to use indirect!!

Sometimes the solution is simple but hidden.

Thanks for your help.
Have a great weekend.

Be sure to mark your thread solved using thread tools at the top of the page.

ps If your going to be adding data to your ranges you can make them dynamic too.
