You have to just try it. Download the trial version on a spare computer, test all of your important workbooks on it, and use it as if you were doing actual work. So many of the complaints you read are from people who skipped their due diligence (i.e., didn't test it) and just took the plunge without any idea of what they were getting into. There are issues with 2007, but if your work steers clear of these issues, you may like it. If these issues affect your work, you will be frustrated.
