I was just playing around with a splash screen idea and liked this one.

There may be a better way to do it...

let me know what you think

Problem is that the user can hit the X button and abort it.

jammer6_9 (http://vbaexpress.com/forum/member.php?u=9713) :slingshot That is awful. A logo of a Junk Shop that closes Excel.... Just like the junk that it sells.

To everyone else.... DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME! (or at work  )

very creative however, ask your self the question,do you really like waiting on load screens, wouldn't you rather have an application that opened quickly?

thanks for the feedback all, I tried the burger king splash screen I did not get a crash, i'm using excel 2007. I added a splash screen to my app more for a gimic and 'advertising', i could speed it up and put an 'esc' key function, i was just trying to mimic a 'loading' progress bar even though this is not really the case - it's all smoke and mirrors :)

Does it shut down all Excel versions apart from 2007 or is it just some setting I haven't set in 2003? :dau:

'Might be in your System "ActiveX Control" or your "Microsoft Forms DLL" files that needs update. Not sure about it. I am using 2003 and it does not crash. Probably

FM20.DLL
MSCAL.OCX
MSCOMCT2.OCXOR better ask the experts here... :dunno
