conditonal formatting

Is there a way to add a formula to conditional formatting to that the greatest in a cell is in Green and the least value is in red................

Assuming that you want to get the MAX and MIN value in A1:A100, select A1:A100, and

Goto Menu Format>Conditional Formatting
Change Condition 1 to Formula Is
Add a formula of
=A1=MAX(A1:A100)
Click the Format button
Select the Palette Tab
Select Red from the Color palette
OK
Click the Add>> button
Change Condition 2 to Formula Is
Add a formula of
=A1=MIN(A1:A100)
Click the Format button
Select the Palette Tab
Select Greenfrom the Color palette
OK
