Hi,

Is there a way to protect the column widths of a spreadsheet so users can't change?

thanks

Thanks but if using this function sheet will not accept input from userform. Any other ideas?

You will need to unprotect it from the userform...input from the userform and then reprotect it.

Try using the macro recorder to come up with this code and then incorporate it into your userform. Post it here if you have problems.

This posting caught my attention. I was wondering if you'd know of a way to force the retention of the column width (e.g., 50 char) even when refreshing the data using an embedded query with the maximum width of the largest item being greater than 50 characters.

My current method is to run a macro that resets the width back to 50 after I run the Refresh. I thought there might be a better way. Maybe I should update the macro to run both the refresh and the column width change.

I also need to display this data on the firm's Intranet (WSS 3.0) but that is another topic.
