Hi All,

I have posted this in Powerpoint, and find that it also happen in Excel, so ask here again:

The matter is: how to set transparency (72%) for filling color in bar chart for Office 2003. Please find below image for what I mean:

(Stare at that Transparency: From 72%)

How I do this as above:

1. Create a chart in Powerpoint 2003. then Save
2. Edit that chart in Powerpoint 2007 (which allow transparency setting) to 72% transparency
3. Save that file as Powerpoint 2003

PS: (The most important is that the PC installed Powerpoint 2003 should not have 2007 installed)

Please help

Thanks

You can't do it in 2003. I presume the reason for the Transparency option being in the Dialog is that it is a common dialog for FillFormats and ChartFillFormats and the reason for it being greyed out when formatting a ChartFillFormat is that only FillFormats have the Transparency option.

Interestingly you seem to have found a way to get round the limitation by using 2007. That means that the option exists but the designers chose not to make it accessible in 2003. I would take the transparent chart to work and bask in some reflected glory.
