Solved: update linked values without opening

I'm sorry but I didn't find anything by searching. Probably becuse I don't know what to search for...

I have two workbooks... radio.xls and activeIPinRadio.xls

activeIPinRadio.xls has one sheet with one column containing data. Each cell in this colunm is a formula linked a different cell in radio.xls.

I run a third batch file using activeIpinradio.xls as my source.

It is important that the linked cells be updated in activeIPinRadio.xls anytime and value in columnB of radio.xls is updated... seeing it is Excel and changes can be disregarded when saving (or crashing) should I force a save?

Surely this has been addressed but unfortunatley I am not able to find it...plz help

I may have an idea....
how about if I keep the information found in workbook "activeIPinradio.xls" within the radio.xls but hide the sheet. that way the user won't know it is there, it will update anytime the workbook calculates, plus there is no chance of the two workbooks getting seperated...

seems like a good idea to me

THat is a good idea....just keep in mind if the information is really "secret", it isn't really all that protected in excel (even if hidden/protected etc).
