Putting Currecy sign for GBP

If I want to put a USD sign then in windows keyboard, there is a direct key : '$'. However I am looking for this type direct key-stroke for GBP as well. Can anyone suggest me any direction like Macro or Shortcut key for doing that ?

0163 = GBP, so you would hold down ALT and on the numberpad, type 0163

If you do a lot of GBP, I'd make an AutoCorrect setting to automatically replace (say) slash, 'ell' with alt+0163

Enter alt+0163 in a doc, and select it
Go to Tools, AutoCorrect Options
In the 'Replace' enter your choice (e.g. /l)

Make sure AutoCorrect while you Type is on

There after when ever you enter '/' followed by 'l' Word will replace those 2 chars with the alt+0163
