Force excel download on webpage

Hi,

Can anybody tell me how you would force an excel file to be downloaded to their desktop from a webpage link?

Not sure if this the correct forum for this but would appreciate any thoughts.

not a VBA question, but you can force the save/open prompt to be displayed instead of the file displaying in the browser. add this line to an htaccess file

AddType application/force-download xls

I havent tested this on IE7.

A good forum for web questions, I find, is forum.powweb.com. You dont need to have your website hosted there, but if you ask questions just be sure to mention you are not hosted at powweb.
