As a newbie, I find using someone elses code and "tweaking" it the easiest way to learn. So I use a lot of the codes found on the forum or on public websites. However, I feel like I should be acknowledging that someone else wrote the original code. Is there a proper way to cite/reference/footnote whatever when copying someone's work?

I would put comments at the start of you code, somthing like

'Code created by "User" from "VBAEXPRESS" forum

That's what I try to do when I "Borrow" code from a forum, especially if it is a full function or module

Personally, I wouldn't worry about it. None of it is original, it has all been compiled from previous postings here or elsewhere.

The only thing I do is if I copy a piece of code with an accreditation already it in, I leave that credit. Other than that, ...
