Solved: recording a macro

Is there a way to record a macro in Access and then view the code (as you can do in Excel)

I tried Tools-Macros in Access but it won't let me do anything

Hi, philfer,

to my knowledge never was possible with Access (at least including 2007 ;)) - only the option available to convert what Access calls Makros (which are not to be recorded) to VBA-Code.

I concur with HaHoBe, the benefits of recording a macro in Access are questionable. In Excel you can manipulate data via macros, but Access doesn't offer many of those functionalities. You can, however, run Excel macros from an Access UserForm (with a button, or what have you).
