View Full Version : Auto saving incoming/outgoing emails in correct folder on server

I save all incoming and outgoing emails in the appropriate job folder. However I often forget, so I thought that it would be a good idea to set up a rule to automatically prompt me to save incoming and outgoing emails. I've read quite a few topics and am sure it can be done, but I'm just not sure how.

what I want to happen is when a new mail arrives a macro is run which checks what job its for (a number in the form of ab-cde within the subject) and then saves that email (in .msg format) under a folder c:\20ab\ab-cde-xxxxxx\emails\incoming\ where xxxxxx is a couple of words identifying the project ie new house.

The email should be saved with who it was to and date an time in the filename.

Obviously I need to be able to confirm the job number (and correct if needed) before is saves it, and have the option of not saving.

Outgoing would be the same except saved in outgoing instead.

If anyone could come up with something it would be great!
