Excel Backend Information

Hi,

Wanted some idea on the back-end workings of excel...or some links...

1. What type of query engine does it use. [For vlookups, match etc]
2. What programming software is actually running it...VB,C....etc in Windows OS.
3. How are the calculations actually done....what engine is processing them.
4. Any other information on what is happening behind the scenes...!!

That is proprietary information, MS don't release it. Most of it is written in C, but beyond that the info is not available.
