Hey guy I got a question about a project that I am going to start.

My daughter was diagnose with Type I diabetes and she must log her blood sugar level and along with that we must adjust here insulin levels. Would it be easier to do it in Excel or Access? I would like to due it in Excel since I can hand it off to her once she moves out of the house. I saw a template from Microsoft Office but I was unable to view the code since it was password protected (I know we are not allowed to hack passwords).

I am just asking for some guidance and then I will get the project started and ask for help when I need it.

Excel no question, the data numbers would not be significant.

While not wanting to derail your efforts, I would like to make a suggestion as a Type 2 myself, paper logs and their equivalent, such as an excel spreadsheet are a pain. I have found that a way to log it when you make the measurement is the best. I use a palm pilot and the software that my meter manufacturer supplies. I use the Accu-chek Compass Software it has both a Windows and a Palm component.

There was also a shareware/Freeware program that I tried several years ago when first diagnosed, http://www.glucoseone.com, . It had both a Palm and Windows component that was based on MySQL as its database. While it had several reports built in, you could always write a query against the database and come up with your on report. The author wrote it for his young child and shared it with the rest of the community.

I would also like to recommend the following site :thumb http://www.mendosa.com/software.htm (http://www.mendosa.com/software.htm) if you have not found it yet. He has a good site related to diabetes. This area has a lot of tools and associated information related to helping you control this disease.
