We have a problem in our office where we have two different "Generations" of computers, one having Office 2000, the other having Office 2003. For some reason our IT provider set up the newer computers to automatically save the emails in Unicode. This is not a problem when sending emails in outlook, but we often save the emails into a file folder on a server, and the 2000 version are not able to open these files easily.

The messages can be opened using word and opening them as HTML, but the attachments are lost in the format.

I am wondering if there could be a macro put into the older version of outlook that will automatically convert the message file from unicode to a non-unicode format so these older computers can read them?
