Hi all,

Does anyone know of a good package with icons (Office & Tools)?

I need icons to a VB-app I develop for a client.

All input highly appreciate it :)

Kind regards,
Dennis

Hi Dennis!

I have been using AWIcons Pro by Lokas Software for about a year now.
The program is great! Easy interface (takes some getting used to but is far superior to most I have tried) and is capable of more than icons.

The output quality of the icon program is tremendous (even with the free version) and there are plenty of bells and whistles to make even the most common icon look unique. I cannot say enough about this program group! :thumb I have had no problems with the program - no lock ups, shut downs, etc. It doesn't seem to take up a lot of resources when I am working with it either. I also like it because with it, you can extract any other icons on your machine - including exe, dll, etc.

There is a free version of AWIcon, but of course it is somewhat limited as compared to the Pro version. However, the free version is a great start if you'd like to try the program out first. You can find it here: http://www.awicons.com Go to the homepage, select the Downloads button on the left margin; once at the full list of available downloads, select AWicon Lite - that is the free version. Give it a whirl. I think you will be impressed.

If you end up purchasing, you can get the help files in Swedish! They are also available on that same download page. :beerchug:

Lokas also offers some other programs that appear rather useful as well.

I have used the other popular icon softwares out there and they do not compare to AWIcons (no, I get nothing from them for this blurb...I just really like the product).

AW is my only recommendation.

Hi

I have several icon lib's not sure where I got them :) they go all the way back to 95. I'll put the zip file on a server for you to download, the zip file is about 8 meg. You will need a program to break some of the icons out of the lib.

Let me know

this is a really good little program. I think for all of the developers here doing their own apps this is a good way to make their own icons and images (if they don't have a favorite icon program / source already.

Good idea!
