Data Access Page Read-Only!

I have created a data access page from a query with one input parameter. When I enter the parameter the data is read only. How do I make the data updateable?

on form proporties for the form, allowEdits = Yes, allow additions = yes

This is a data access page, not a form. The Group level allows are all true

According to replies here (http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=100684), a DAP will only update when the source data has a unique primary key - and apparently adding grouping levels makes the page read-only. Does your data have a unique primary key?

Also, if the DAP is run from a query view rather than a straight table view the system may not be able to update the data (the same problem applies in Access itself).
