Lost Permissions

I just did the latest XP update last night, and this morning my users cannot open the back-end MDB file.

Either the message 'Cannot find R:\...MDB file' (which is silly because we can see it in the explorer window showing R:\)

OR, we get the message about the MDB being opened exclusively or 'you don't have permission'.

I noted that the KB945553 mentions something regarding DNS...

"A security issue has been identified in DNS Clients..."

Does anyone have a similiar difficulty????

Do all the computers have this latest update?

Does the mdb work if you try it locally.

I have that permission problem occassionally, and I don't know what it could be. so long as you don't mind re-linking all the frontend files to the backend, you could always try copying the backend and renaming it. I have found that to work quite well.
