When I convert an Excel 2003 file to 2007 xlsm format file, control names are changed to the default name (i.e. "cmd_execute" reverts to "commandbutton1"). These controls are embeded on the worksheet, not in the ribbon. The problem can be fixed by re-coding the control in the 2007 xlsm file. Am I missing something?

I don't know if you are missing anything :-), I would suggest if you still have access to 03 then go back to that and add late binding so that the refferences will automaticly be updated when you launch on 07

I apologize for placing this question in the Access Forum. Should have applied to Excel Forum. The controls are ActiveX rather than Form Controls. It seems the conversion process handles Form Controls just fine, but ActiveX Controls are renamed. I'm unclear on how binding could be performed on a Private Worksheet ActiveX Command click event.
