Yep, Feb 20, it is 34 years of wedded bliss. Time goes so fast, it only seems like 30-35 years (Don't tell that to the Mrs.! ;) )
That year it got down to -40 F, not that anyone noticed!
Now, two children, and 3 1/2 grandchildren, 27 moves, 4 different careers [teacher, naval officer, pastor, analyst] later ... well, let me get the rocking chair - I wish!

So...what you're trying to say is that you HAD to marry her?
Congratulations, shades!! :)

27 moves in 34 years means you spent an average of about 15 months in each place. You must be on the run!!

Well, we lived in one house for 5 years (1987-1992), and another for 6 years (1992-1998). So 25 moves in 23 years.
The first 15 moves were fun. The last 10 have been much harder. Our house burned 7 years ago, so a move was necessary. Our son and his family were living with us at the time - all of us got out in less than a minute - even though it was 4:45 AM. Smoke alarms are a life-saver!

I would respond, but I'm still laughing!
Actually I wanted 12 children! Mrs. shades wasn't as enthusiastic about that number. But as it turned out, we couldn't have our own children. So even if it were true on your speculation, it wouldn't have mattered - before or after the wedding night. And so we adopted two brothers - they were 8 1/2 years and 6 years old. The younger one is now 32 and he and his wife have 3 children (and one in the oven).

Hey Shades!
I just occured to me that I never actually posted anything to say congratulations. (Always seem to be in a hurry these days.)
So Congrats! Sadly, we always seem to see the stories of the opposite now, and never the good ones!
And 12 kids? My wife runs a daycare, and currently looks after four under two years old (only one is ours). Somehow, I think that if I suggested another 11, I would be rendered incapable of another one! :rotlaugh:
Way to go, and may the next 35 be better than the first 34! :hi:

Shades: I have always wished that I were independently wealthy--just so I could have a bunch of kids! My mom had 8. I am #7.

And I am not really Zack. This is Evil Zack posting under Zack's guise again. Please do not be alarmed. The nice Zack is dead, I have killed him and consumed him. And now I shall reign for a thousand years, or however long this fragile body will hold out on me; whichever comes first.
