Hi everybody. I'm really getting crazy with INCLUDEPICTURE.

I'm trying to insert different picture to every letter in a mail merge.

I suppose I did everything as explained by microsoft kb
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/909132/en-us/

but still the error occurs: "Error! Filename not specified"

Any idea? I uploaded the files (excel database, word letter e image)

Thanks in advance

Hi, the format of your graphic file name in the XLS data file is incorrect.

You have: 'C:\\Documents and Settings\\demo_mappa_1.gif'

It should be: "C:\\Documents and Settings\\demo_mappa_1.gif"

Basically full quotes, not single quotes.

gwkenny not the string gets the full quotes but it's still not working.

Could it be related to Word print options?

Hi, unfortunately has nothing to do with print options :(

Here is the Word and Excel file that I am using (note that I chopped off the last paragraph or two from your Word file).

I noticed that when I preview the merged file and create the merged document I get the "ERROR! Filename not specified".

I am so used to Word quirks I didn't recognize that I calced the erroring fields. Put your cursor in the field that is giving errors (or highlight the whole document) and press F9. When I do this, Word brings in the image. NOTE I am doing this on the final merged document.

I'm using Word2003. This is one of the "perks" of working with Word.

:(
