View Full Version : My website - Slow or Fast?

If anyone here has some free time time, would you mind looking around my website (http://accessdb.info) to see if the pages are slow or fast to load? It would also be helpfull to know what kind of connection you are on (Cable, DSL, Dail-up and so on).

I am not trying to increase traffic to my site or anything, but want to know if it is slow for people looking around on it and if I need to tweak any settings or anything like that. There is some cache setting for the CMS (Content Management System) that is supposed to help performance but I am not sure it there is some other cost incurred when I increase it so I don't want to mess witht he default setting unless I have to.

Seems fine to me (56k). It take 3-10 seconds per page.

ADSL, and loaded about 3-5 seconds per page.

56k modem - about 10 seconds for each page to fully load, but generally viewable within 5 seconds.

Cable here; load time was instant (~1.5 < seconds)
No problems.

Cable for me too. Similar result, nearly instant loading.

56K Modem (in UK if it makes a difference). First page took about 15 seconds (bit quicker for second) - about average. It was slowed down a little by Firefox prompting me about cookies - it's a subject for another thread but why exactly do you need to write cookies (the page seems to work just fine when I Deny them)?

The CMS handles everything but writing the content. I will try to find out more about that. Thanks!!

Wi-fi via dsl w/T1 speed loaded instantly.

Wi-fi via ADSL 600 Kbps, took me 10 secs. It still great!
