I am trying to use the camera tool to show a traffic light signal for a given score. Score = 1 then Green light; Score = 2 Yellow light; and last Score = 3 Red light. I can not get it to work. Attached is a sample spreadsheet. Question: does the camera tool work with picture objects in a cell?

Any help or guidance will be greatly appreciated.

El Xld, your suggestion is a good alternative to what I am trying to do with the camera tool. I have done something semilar in the past. I was hoping to be a little more creative and use a picture of a true traffic light with the proper light illuminated (red, yellow, green).

In my example the camera tool will give the contents of the specified cells, but the picture. I pasted the picture to the sheet and then dragged to the proper cell location. Is there some action or trick to actually pasting a picture to a specific cell?

My good friend Andy Pope got a bit creative with a traffic light image at http://www.andypope.info/charts/trafficlight.htm, but I think this will be a tad short of what you want.

Maybe this is better for you

To get the camera working set the xAlert named range to the formula

=CHOOSE(xScore,xG,xY,xR)

rather than referencing A3.

If you can position your image over 3 rows then you can use CF and a single image. See attached.

I love Andy's alternate solution using Conditional formatting, it is nicely extendible.
