Hi all,

Suppose i plot a graoh on following figures :
0 31273.36386
1 31259.83531
2 31246.33099
3 31232.85093
4 31219.39516
5 31205.96371
6 31192.55661
7 31179.1739
8 31165.81561
9 31152.48176
10 31139.17239
11 31125.88753
12 31112.62722
13 31099.39147
14 31086.18033
15 31072.99383

Now I want to highlight the point 31099.391 (third last) by the following manner :

from that point on plot, I want to draw a vertical line which will cut the x-axis and another horizontal line that will cut the y-axis.

Can anyone please tell me how to do that? I already gone through http://theclosetentrepreneur.com/how-to-add-a-vertical-line-to-an-excel-xy-chart but is not working for my problem.

If you have a xy-scatter you can add a new series with a single x and y coordinate. The use X and Y error bar, Minus 100% to draw the required lines.

If you have a line chart then you will need 2 extra series.
1st plots the horizontal line
2nd plots a single point and uses it's Error bar to create the vertical line.

Only problem with a line chart is the line will not reach the Y axis unless you have Cross between categories turned off.

Hi Andy, thanks for your suggestion. Have you attached any file? I could not find anything because I got following : "post count is 0 momentarily". Can you send a copy to my personal address arun.kumar.saha@gmail.com?
