How to copy contents of text file to tab sheet of another excelsheet

I have two files..file A and file B.

File A is text file which has contents to be copied over.
File B is excel(XLS) file which has different tabs in the fileB itself.

I wanted to copy content of file A to one of the tabs in File B. Assume I have other files such as File C,D,E to be copied to File B but of other tabs in File B.

For your information, I am using Gnumeric to open the XLS.

Please let me know as i try google around for few mths.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Maybe I should explain another word for the "tab". The "tabs" which I meant is:-

in excel spreadsheet , there are different tabs belong to the same excel spreadsheet. For e.g File B(the excel spreadsheet) has 5 tab sheets in the spreadsheet itself.

Another question is ,if this is supportable in Gnumeric or only for Microsoft Excel?
