Access 2007 won't use row 1 for field names if fixed width text being imported

Needless to say, I have started my first week with access 2007, and was importing fixed width text files. The import wizard works very well, but by default, when the fields are in fixed width text format, Access will not offer the option to use row 1 as field names.

Any idea on how to work around this

I am unfamilar with fixed width text files, would you mind posting a test sample please?
Do they have to be fixed width text files for you to import?

Unfortunately, Fixed Width Text is often a lowest commond denominator when I have to deal with legacy systems. I keep a copy of MS Access 2 loaded just in case, but I was hoping this new version would actually work better.
