View Full Version : Construct *.pst File From Email Data Stored In A Dataase

I have a human resources applicant tracking system database from a client. The front end has an internal mail client that looks like Outlook (but isn't). The data for those emails is stored in a few tables on the back-end. Since this client is leaving their current ASP to come to us, I need to pull their data out of their database and put it into ours. Our system does not offer an internal mail client (we automate Outlook instead). To retain the client's data, I need to pull out the applicable fields (from, to, subj, body, etc.) from the database and create emails out of them and store them, along with their attachments, in newly created folders in my Outlook program. I'll then export them to a *.pst and send them to the client so they can attach the *.pst to their Outlook program. I'm having a hard time setting the SenderName and SenderEmailAddress. I've looked into Redemption but it seems all I can do with that is bypass the security feature that pops up notifying the user that an application is accessing those fields. I solved this problem for the Sent and Received datetimes by adding two user properties to the emails. I can then add those fields to the fields displayed when viewing the entire contents of a folder. I could potentially do the same thing for the SenderName and SenderEmailAddress but when the client clicks the Reply button, they'll have to dig for the email address instead of it auto-populating. Is there a way to construct emails that look and behave as if they've already been sent/received with the correct data in the correct fields?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
