Good day to all. I am a very "newbie" member, just having joined, after reading many posts and downloading/learning from many examples for about two years now.

Hopefully I will be able to contribute back in small ways, though there are many consistent posters who are obviously far advanced, and I do not get as much time to access the forum as I'd like.

Well onto my question, which while concerning Excel workbooks is more of an API question.

While I believe it's possible, I have not been able to locate an example (or leastwise one yours truly could decipher) of reducing a form or the workbook to the SysTray... along with creating a shortcut menu to the created icon.

Thank you so much,

Mark

Thank you much, but when I click the link on the page, it just takes me to downloader.com... Am I missing something?

Yes, it must be broken.

I saw a few activex controls but they were about $50.

Some others used API calls which might work. See this site for some example api code. http://en.allexperts.com/q/Visual-Basic-1048/Minimize-app-tray.htm
You might be able to use the api's in this access method. http://www.mvps.org/access/api/api0045.htm

Of course the easiest way is to use vb.net instead of vba.

Thank you again :-) I had seen, but thus far unable to successfully use the second one. I will study the '...allexperts...' one this weekend.

Very much appreciate the help,

Mark

If you click the Feedback button on Ivan's web page from that first link, tell him that you need it and he will probably email it to you. He sent the xls file to me.

It didn't work as I expected though. Much of the subclassing api code is in though. It might need some other tweaks to do something.

Ivan's link is back up if you want to try it now.

Ivan's link was ok xld but not the download link to get the xls file. He said I could share it so I put it at box.net.

Thank you so much!

It may be a couple of days before I can study this, but I subbed in calling a msgbox for one of the popup menu items, and it works.

I believe between this and one other example I located I am on my way!

Thank you again,

Mark
