How to identify the type of attachment

Hi,

I want to know what kind of attachment I received in my mail & want to make the macro read the attached file for a keyword in column A if the attached file is an excel file.

I can check for if the mail item has any attachments but how to identify the filetype of teh attachments.

The easiest solution would just be to read the extension on the attachment file name, and if it's an Excel extension (.xlsx/.xls or whatever) then that's it...
