domain availability

I had an excel sheet in which the first column has different webaddresses in each cell like
yahoo.com
hotmail.org
gmail.net
abcdef.net
lmnop.org
and others. All can be either .com, .org or .net. What the problem I am facing is check whether a domain is available against the name written in the cell. Can any body help me in writing such script which takes each and every cell but single cell at a time as input like A5 and tell whether the domain lmnop.org is available or not.

I guess you could use Ping or NSLookup as shown in this thread.
