Hi

I have a protected sheet which has various columns that are locked (to protect formula) and others that are unlocked so the user can copy information from another excel workbook into mine.

I have looked and looked for a solution, can anyone please help

Many thanks in advance

You have to unprotect the sheet, copy the cells, then protect it again.

That's what I would do if it was just me using it, but we are talking about people that don't know how to use Excel correctly.

Is there anyway of doing this via a macro, so that the macro runs as soon as the sheet has changed, as they will be changing the data approximately once a month.

I never expected you to ask users to do it, if you tell them about the protection you might as well get rid of it.

You should set up a macro that does the copy for you (I had kinda assumed you were already doing that) and do the protec/unprotect in there.
