Project of the Week?

Evening All.

I was wondering if anyone was interested in starting a "Project of the Week." Have one of the more active and advanced users give some general instructions for a project and see what the end results are from anyone wishing to participate.

I find it very interesting to browse through other peoples' code to see how they completed something and it's led me to some great discoveries over the years.

An example project would be something like:



You are creating a roster for your class that assigns each student to a certain project group. Using Data Validation, create a drop-down list that will remove each students' name once they have been assigned to a group.

Criteria:
- There are 28 students in the class.
- Each group has either three or four students.
- Each student can only be in one group.
- The drop-down list should be alphabetical by last name.
- This is done with Formulas only. No VBA.

I know there have been a few discussions about doing projects like this in the past, and they've always been met with favorable comments... but they've never moved past the discussion stage.

Having some open projects like this, I think, is a great idea- It provides real-world challenges that everyone can learn from.

I would definitely be willing to head this up each week, but I'd like more comments from the peanut gallery as to what they'd prefer. I have a dozen different ideas for various projects, some of which would build off of the previous weeks for a "final project" sort of deal. Maybe I'll stick a poll out there.

Would everyone prefer single-application projects or cross-application projects, or both? There seems to be a good deal of cross-application development here on the forum.

If opted for single-application projects, should I (or we) chose an application each week to highlight or do a project for each application each week?
