We have organised an Excel User Conference to be held in London on 1st and 2nd April 2009 at Microsoft's Victoria Street premises.

The best thing is that it is free. So if you want to come, book early, we don't expect it to take long to fill up. Each day should be separately booked, don't book unless you intend to attend.

Here is the agenda.

On Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd April 2009 in London. This FREE event has some fantastic speakers from the Excel community.

The agenda for the two days is outlined below and you can book for either or both days by emailing bookings@excelusergroup.org.

Microsoft will be providing the venue and the hospitality and we look forward to a great and informative couple of days. The agenda is below, but if you want the full version with session details and speaker bios, you can download the Word document file here (http://excelusergroup.org/cfs-filesystemfile.ashx/__key/CommunityServer.Blogs.Components.WeblogFiles/nickhodge/UK-Excel-User-Group-Meeting-Rev2.doc).

No, none at the moment. The difficulty is that apart from the premises and refreshments provided by MS, the presenters are having to fund this ourselves, so we are trying to keep our costs down.

Is it possible for the presenters to Upload their slides or any reference materials here Bob?

If I was in London, it would be fantastic to attend this.

I hope that our UK colleagues here will be attending. It is also advertised at MrExcel and ExcelForum, as well as being blogged at various sites, and seems to be generating good interest, so I don't want our VBAXers to miss out. Sign up quick!

Bob,

With your line-up of speakers and topics, I really wish I had a reason to be on your side of the pond for those days, at least.

I hope that all goes even better than expected.

Thanks Ron, I can't see how it can't. MS hosting, free food, Excel and Excellers together, English beer, and FREE! Can't fail :-)

Free!?! Oh, I'm so missing out. Wish I could afford to fly over there!!! I would in a heartbeat if I had the $$ to. But at about $900 for tickets, well, I don't have that kind of dough. :( I'm still waiting for an Excel User Conference in the Pacific Northwest [US]!

Bob Phillips

All you have to do Zack is organise our tickets, accomodation, meals and beer money, and I am sure I can persuade the guys to come over.

You're forgetting the tickets he mentioned too.

Perhaps we need to come up with a stateside VBAX conference so that we Yanks can show the Brits how it's done:devil2:

Just a word of warning if you are thinking of coming to the (FREE) UK Excel user conf in April:

Get booked in quick - its nearly full!

I think there will be a waiting list, wich will be started soon, within a week of announcing the event! If you have booked and can no longer make it please let us know so we can give your place to the baying crowd.

If you are not bothered about the content or too busy/important to attend during the day but fancy meeting up for meal and drinks then let Nick know via the booking link bookings@excelusergroup.org.

I think this would be a tossup, going to this or the Summit.. but I don't have to fly to the Summit...

.. ahem, if I'm even there or not..

Bob Phillips

We don't want you anyway, and its fully booked now so you're too late. But you could always attend as you usually do.

It is 100% over-subscribed, but if you are interested, register anyway. There is a possibility of a follow-up, and prefernce will go to those on the reserve list.

I'm not sure what the exact itenerary of this conference is, but will there be any follow-up posted to the site, or transcripts of important conversations, etc?

Bob Phillips

The itinerary is linked in the original post.

Transcripts will be posted at one site, but I am not sure if access will be restricted or not.

Thanks

Sorry mate, two things. The original post tells you where to email to register, but you are far too late anyway, it is over-subscribed many times. You might want to register anyway as there is a possibility of another event later in the year and wait-listed candidates will take priority.

Really? I highly doubt you have. Perhaps a member emailed through the forums to you, but it certainly was not from this site or its administrators.

No, swear to that imaginary being, that is the lot. I didn't bring the camera day 1, and I didn't take nearly enough. I truly regret that.

Simon Lloyd

Maybe set up a video camera for the next one then take some stills from that, it would be great to capture the laughter and camaraderie of two truly great days!

Zack Barresse

Capturing audio on these events would be tremendous. I would love to see that happen. These are too far and few in between. I would have loved to have attended. I'm sure it was excellent though. :)
