View Full Version : [SOLVED] Having a list without a userform

I want to create a list as you do with a combobox or a listbox, only problem is I dont want a userform involved. So it just creates a list and then be able to retrieve the values from the list (as you can with comboboxes). I have been snooping around the VBA help file and the boards here, but cant really find what I am looking for.

TIA
Frank

Hi Frank,

Look at View/Toolbars, then either 'Forms' or 'Control Toolbox' - you can use either Forms or Control listboxes and combo boxes without userforms.

I can't seem to find what you mean, I use office 2003, i can get a toolbar for userforms but those are mainly format controls (ie align left, etc.). The other toolbars I can select have nothing to do with forms, control listboxes or combo boxes.

Its on the Visual Basic Toolbar. to get the control toolbox you need to click on the hammer button. this will bring up a floating toolbar with the controls on it.

Sorry, I should've been more explicit - those toolbars are in the main Excel window, not the VBE window. They put the list or combo boxes on the worksheet.

Ok, I've found it. Made a list on the worksheet and then set visible to false in VBA, works like a beaut. it now has a list without showing a list on the sheet.

thanx again
