Solved: 'Edit Field' Unavailable for 'If...Then...Else' Field

Although not technically VBA I thought I'd get an answer here.

When creating a mail-merge, if I insert an 'If...Then...Else' field into my word document, I can't edit the field afterwards. If I right-click on the field the 'Edit Field' option is grayed out, my only option is to rewrite the whole field.

Am I doing something wrong?

Could you please explain what is an 'If...Then...Else' field?

An IF...THEN field?

You can certainly put IF logic in fields, but not IF...THEN...ELSE. At least not as actually logic statements. The results of such logic, yes. Can you clarify a bit?

Hi amarsha4,

Did you try selecting the field and pressing Shift-F9 to expose its code? Or Alt-F9 to expose all field codes in the document?
