Access file not opens in a design view

Hi,

I have an access file which has been created long back by someone. I tried opening it.. it opens but not in a normal view, opens with lots of buttons i guess switchboards. Now i wanted to see the queires in a design view so that i can amend..

how do i do this?

arvind, look to see if Main Menu>Tools>Startup>Display Database Window is ticked, if it isn't Tick It.
You can then use Main Menu>Window to select the Database Objects.

When you open the database, a security warning should appear. Hold shift and click open, this should force the database to open, showing the database window. This should work, as long as they didn't use code to block this (doubtful, but possible), and as long as your file is a regular .mdb file.
