Solved: Can't Record Anything

Hi,

This is the first time using VBA in Msword 07

I tried recording a macro and whilst in recording mode word will not let me select any text or do anything... the mouse cursor shows a arrow and a tape what does this mean??? can anyone help cheers.

Word has always been tight about a lot of uses of the cursor when recording a macro. No, you can not select with the mouse, but you CAN with the keyboard.

Hint #1: preposition your cursor BEFORE you start recording, and then use the keyboard. Macro recording does not inhibit (most) keyboarding.

Hint #2: if you need to do a right click when recording a macro, and it is not letting you, use....the keyboarding equivalent, Shift-F10. Shift-F10 is the Windows keyboard equaivalent to a right click.
