is there any way to enter a bunch of values in a column, such as multiple payments, then search to see if any combination of them would add up to a specific value?

I have 11 invoices with payments associated with the for tax purposes and I have 2 different 1099 forms from the company. I need to know which invoices are associated with which 1099 form.

I want to type all the payments into a column then type the final value from 1 1009 and search out the payments that add up to the correct value.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you want to search all possible combinations, it will be a little hard to figure out the code. Are there some parameters, such as you are only interested in one combination per specific value, or you only want two payments per combination?

I'm guessing that there will be only one combination per value but a very small possibility of 2. For sure no more than two.

Okay. That helps! We're fixing to get hit with a major storm, but I'll work on it as long as I can.

I'm sorry, pingwin. This is hard for me to figure out. I'll post what I've got so far, and maybe you can take it from there, but I've got to spend time on my classes.

This is so far the most promising method I've come up with. Hope it helps.

This in case you don't have 2007.

An alternative. Clicking in the Results table should show the combination values.
